Bivouac Adventures

Finland is a nature paradise open to everyone. Some of you may not have the capacities or the interest to go on long adventures such as treks, day hikes, or packrafting trips with many kilometers to cover. However you do love nature and have the deep desire to live the spirit of adventure. Good news! We have the perfect program for you in any season. Find out more about it below.

Our unique bivouac adventures are a short distance hike to reach a beautiful spot in the nature of Lapland where we set up a camp for one or two nights. At the camp you can fully enjoy in a flexible schedule many different types of outdoor activities: outdoor cooking, exploring, making fire, swimming, sauna, Northern lights watching (in Fall and Winter), and simply relaxing.

THE EXPERIENCE TO LIVE: What would you say having a bivouac that also includes a short packrafting trip which takes you over to the other side of a lake where there's a small and remote beach!? Definitely, this will give you the taste for adventure and the joy of the simple things of life in a wilderness environment. On the first day early in the morning we meet and have a 1h15 drive to the starting point of our adventure. You receive a rucksack including a sleeping bag and pad, various items for wilderness camping, and an ultralight but strong inflatable raft and its accessories. Then we hit the trail for a 3 km hike through a luminous forest of pine trees planted in sandy soil. Arrived at the lake we unpack our rafts and extend our trip by about 1 km on the pristine waters which sometimes amazingly look emerald and turquoise. The beach is hidden between a wooden cliff and a peninsula. We set up our camp in the forest right in front of the shore. Then it's all about living life in the wilderness: gathering around a bonfire on the beach, swimming in the fresh and clear waters, taking walks to explore around, paddling to visit a couple of tiny islands nearby, relaxing in the quietness of nature, and getting new skills of life in the wilderness.

"I unfold the map of Northern Norway, a region close to Lappitrek's headquarters. I study it with the eyes of exploration. I spot these little altitude lakes in a mountainous peninsula surrounded by the majestic fjords. I tell myself: There must be a way to leave with the backpacks, tents, packrafts, hike to these lakes, camp there, and paddle on the turquoise waters of those glacier lakes. It doesn't take me long to make the project a reality. Now it has become a unique Lappitrek adventure program crafted for those who dream of camping in various off-beaten spots.
